Teeth
Bleaching(Whitening)
Discoloration
and darkening of the teeth occurs over many years. It is a result of stains
from food, drink and tobacco habits. In a matter of two weeks, it is possible
to remove the years of stain.
Many
times only the upper teeth are whitened because the lower teeth are not
as visible. This makes it easy to see the results of the whitening.

An impression is taken of the teeth to be whitened. An appliance is made
to hold the whitening agent, which is basically a oxygen-releasing gel.
The gel is added to the appliance and placed over the teeth.
The
appliance holds the gel in contact with the teeth and keeps saliva out
which would dilute and wash away the agent.
The gel is applied once or twice a day for 1½ hours. This is done
for 2 weeks to achieve the results. The teeth are then whitened once or
twice a month to maintain the brightness.
