Flossing

I prefer that you use unwaxed dental floss. If the unwaxed floss shreads or breaks frequently, then use a waxed floss.

Wind 18 inches of floss around the middle fingers of each hand. Pinch floss between the thumbs and index fingers, leaving a 1 to 2 inch length in between. Use your thumbs to direct the floss between the upper teeth. Use your index fingers to guide floss between the lower teeth.

Gently guide the floss between the teeth by using a zig-zag motion. Do not snap the floss into the gum. Contour the floss around the side of the tooth.

Slide the floss up and down against the tooth surface and under the gumline. Floss each tooth thoroughly with a clean section of floss.
